The City of Cardiff Swimming Club is delighted to announce the appointment of its new Head Coach, Graham Wardell who commenced his appointment on 12 January 2015.
He takes over from Dave Haller MBE who announced his retirement from the sport last September. As a coach his career began whilst at Southampton University where he became Assistant Head Coach of the City of Southampton SC from 1982 to 1986. He has been ‘immersed in coaching ever since’.
Graham has established himself as an integral part of the British & Scottish teams for the last 20 years. This has culminated by being appointed as The Head Coach of the successful Scottish Swimming Team at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games which he shared being the High Performance Coach of City of Glasgow Swim Team. He led the Scotland Aquatics Team to help ensure the athletes and coaches have the best possible preparation to perform with excellence when it counts and to enjoy and have fun.
