Diane Hughes

I am currently the teacher/coach for A3 on Saturday mornings.

I am a qualified ASA swimming teacher and an associate member of the Institute of Swimming Teachers and Coaches. I have been volunteering my services to the City of Cardiff swimming Club since 1984.

Over the years I have attended various courses including:

Team Manager Training level 1 & 2

Good Practice and Child Protection

Additional Needs Awareness

Official Time keeping course.

I have had the opportunity to work with (and learn from) a number of City of Cardiff Professional Coaches over the years. This experience has been invaluable, every one having something different to offer but all with the same goal, to help the swimmers reach their potential.

As a Coach/Team Manager I have accompanied City of Cardiff swimmers to Antwerp, Nantes, Munich and Stuttgart.

Best Moment

Watching David Davies swim the 1500metres final against Grant Hackett at the World Championships held in Melbourne Australia in 2007.

David Davies and Ieuan Lloyd used to be in D3 proving that hard work, determination (and maybe a little talent) will get you to the top!
